Staying active

People who stay active are more likely to continue with their normal lives for longer. They are more likely to be able to keep working, engaging and enjoying, without having to depend on others.

Inactivity causes disability and millions of deaths around the world every year. It can lead to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer.

You’re never too young or too old to stay active – just half an hour of moderate exercise (like walking fast) every day can make a real difference.

If you want to keep healthy, keep moving – all through your life.

If you have problems that you think might prevent you exercising, ask a physiotherapist for help, they are the qualified experts in movement and exercise.

Why don’t you encourage your colleagues, family and friends to keep active?
Print out the attached poster here and put it up somewhere for everyone to see!
