Getting the best ZZZZ…

Many people wake up with a sore back in the morning. Try these tips to help prevent back pain.

Pillow talk
The pillow should be under your head and not under your shoulders. Choose a pillow thickness that allows your head to be in a normal position.

Keep the curve
Try to maintain a position which helps you maintain the natural curve in your back. A pillow under your knees or a lumbar roll under your lower back may offer some help.

Position is important
Do not sleep on your side with your knees drawn up to your chest. Also avoid sleeping on your stomach. This can cause back strain and can be uncomfortable for your neck.

The above are general guidelines only. If back pain persists or gets worse, make an appointment with your physiotherapist for professional help and advice.
