How long will it take for my child to recover?
It is important to note that symptoms may continue for up to four weeks in some children.

If parents are concerned about their child at any stage, they should return to their GP or peadiatrician for a checkup.

"Red flag" signs that your child might be developing more severe disease, which requires urgent attention, are:

  • Fast or difficult breathing
  • Flaring of the nostrils
  • Indrawing of the tissue between and below the ribs
  • Pallor or a blue tinge around the lips
  • Head bobbing whilst lying down.
