Veggie garden in a tyre!

The MISA Women’s Forum Northern / Highveld Team, in association with Honda Hatfied and Auto Wheel, Pretoria, donated 40 tyres to Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen in Johannesburg to be used to create portable vegetable gardens.

The objective is to enable the children to start their own vegetable garden in a tyre, which they can take home to their family. This practical concept can be successfully implemented in a flat or hostel where there is no space to start a vegetable garden. The tyre vegetable garden can be mounted on a wall or placed on the roof or it can be kept on a windowsill.

The MISA Women’s Forum wishes to thank Honda Hatfied Pretoria’s Dealer Principal, Riaan van der Walt, and Johan Lock, Auto Wheel Pretoria, and their respective teams for joining hands with them in making a difference on the lives of the families who are supported by Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen.

Special treat for the children on Mandela Day
A very special word of appreciation to Gerhard Lourens, Chairperson of the MISA Northern / Highveld Regional Executive Committee, and his committee for their generous donation towards a special lunch for the children at Fred and Martie's Soup Kitchen as part of Mandela Day Celebrations.
