We are experiencing an ever-changing landscape in our
industry and take a fast-forward look to 2030.
Some
of the contributing factors to the changing landscape are:
- A shortage of stock fuelled by the decreasing sales
of new cars
- The increase of ticket values that has to be financed
with limited capital – hence the growth of floorplans
- The way clients source their new purchases and new
legislation as well as changes to old legislation.
I recently came across a riveting video presentation
by McKinsey&Company titled, “2030 automotive revolution”.
It gives an overview of what we can expect up to
2030 and provides scenarios of the kind of changes that
are coming and how they will affect traditional vehicle
manufacturers and suppliers, potential new players, regulators,
consumers, markets, and the automotive value chain.
This presentation makes for compelling viewing. Click
