Dear Member

Be busy, but don’t omit the basics

We are well into the most beautiful month of the year, but also one of the busiest as we start gearing up for the year-end rush.

Being busy does not mean cutting corners, as is evident in this month’s legal article. While this article deals mainly with issues our Legal Relations Officers encounter in workshops, it is just as applicable to all other areas in our industry.

Every job has specific requirements: whether it be following up on leads, returning customer calls, capturing data or completing warranty applications. If you have specific actions as part of your job description, don’t omit doing them in the name of ‘busyness’.

At work as in life, one can never go wrong by ensuring the basics are done correctly and by taking care with the proverbial crossing of the t’s and dotting the i’s.

Last but not least, as this issue of the MISA eDATA was being finalised, the negotiations with employer organisations had not reached a conclusive agreement. We will keep you informed on this matter.

All the best until next time,

Kind regards,

Martlé Keyter, CEO Operations
Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA)
