Consumer Education an important focus area

As part of The Banking Association South Africa & National Treasury's joint statement on responsible lending, Consumer Education was identified as one of the important focus areas.

Over the next few issues, we will share pertinent Consumer Education Communication Material with our Dealer Members.

The material will focus on the following four themes:

1. Your guide to financial health.
2. Making credit work for you – Phase 1 – communicated in our current issue below.
3. Manage my credit responsibly.
4. Effective query and compliant resolution.


The target audience for phase 1 (theme 2) will be all Finance and Insurance agents and our prospective clients applying for finance through dealerships.

This BASA / Bankseta initiative is supported by both the NMFA and IDA.

Ongoing communication regarding these themes will be posted on the IDA website and communicated in our monthly Heads-Up newsletter.
