Thank you to the Kitty Hawk Team

What an incredible day we had at the recent RV and MG day at Kitty Hawk, writes Kitty Hawk Chairman, Frank van Heerden.

For me the day was a highlight and I am thrilled to have been able to share in the joy and happiness of young and old!

Kitty Hawk presents the perfect platform for the symbiosis between aircraft, cars, and people.

The event will hopefully impress the many children who were present on the day to consider aviation as a career or hobby.

I think the MG Car Club members also had a great time in our environment!

This wonderful event would not have been possible without the hard work of many and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the following people:

Pepi Gaspari from the MG Club for choosing Kitty Hawk (two years ago already!).
Thank you, Pepi, we hosted 100 MG cars and 180 guests.

64 visiting aircraft, of which 41 were RV’s
Neil Terblanche travelled all the way from Kroonstad! We had the pleasure of welcoming around 100 pilots and pac’s.

Wilma and her team from the Kitty Hawk Restaurant
Wilma and her team served no less than 380 meals on the day and the service was great!

Kitty Hawk team
The Kitty Hawk team pulled out all the stops and a special word of thanks goes to Dawie Pretorius our 24-hour airport manager, Irmarie Jooste for the support on the marketing and promotion, Francois Pretorius (Dawie’s son) for the professional MC work, Kitty Hawk ground staff and security. Kenneth, Andries, Felix, Albert and Jan – Kitty Hawk looked great!

The Raptors
Thank you to Pierre Gouws and the team for a great display and Trevor Warner for standing in for Pierre. The performance was smooth as usual!

Neville Ferreira
As usual, a great display, thanks Neville!

Safety: Nigel Musgrave
Once again, as professional as can be, with no incidents. Saved a certain wheels-up landing!

Finally, I think the symbiosis between aircraft and cars in an airport environment is a winner.

Please feel free to comment, critique or make suggestions for next year!
